Fax2Mail System FAQ

Q:What is Fax2Mail ? A: Fax2Mail is a solution to save you money from day one. It simply sends your faxes as email attachments, thus resulting in enormous savings if international faxing is a reasonable expense every month.

Q: How does it work? A: Faxes that are sent from the fax machine go straight to your Fax2Mail PC. The Fax2Mail program on PC checks if a corresponding email address exists. If it does, the fax is sent out as an email attachment (just one tiff file for all the pages). One fax sent like this can even reach a list of email recipients. Just imagine savings in time & money! The recipient can print if required at their end. If corresponding email address is not found, the message is sent out as normal fax. In either case the message is sent.

Q: How does the user send a fax? A: The user hardly sees a difference in operations. Goes to the fax machine, puts the document in, and takes line. Presses a pre-set Memory button (fax number of Fax2Mail PC). Waits for a beep sound after first ring. Presses the required number and sends the fax.

Q: What if the user wants to send the fax immediately? A: Do only step number 1 & 4

Q: How is this corresponding Email address found? A: There is an address table in the FAX2Mail program which is maintained by the System Administrator. This table contains two fields - Fax number & Corresponding Email address.

Q: What if there is no corresponding email address? A: As stated above, the fax is then sent out as normal fax at usual charges.

Q: How much time it takes to send out the fax attachment as email ? A: It can be as low as within 2 minutes. Which means by the time you walk back to your table, the message may already be in the IN-BOX of the recipient! But it can be increased too, if required.

Q What are the requirements ? A: If you have a PC with Internet account set-up and a compatible fax machine in your office, you only need one more telephone line and a modem compatible with Fax2Mail, for the system to start saving money for you.
