Very often while following up a lead or for that matter any task where follow up is required, we lose track of what was done and what is to be done next. This is simply because there are many tasks to be done at the same time and paper has the natural tendency to vanish when it is needed most.

FollowUP! is a program in MS Access that allows users to keep all the past and future actions on one screen. When a call comes from a prospect or a customer, you simply bring up that FollowUP task on the screen and can see what is the current status viz. a viz. that person. You can see-

  • When the last meeting was held
  • When next meeting is due
  • When you called last, but could not talk to the person
  • When you last made a successful call
  • What is the next action
  • When is the next action due
  • What all has happened in the past
  • and more...

FollowUP! also helps in reminding what actions are due up to a certain date (up to tomorrow by default).

Since the customer’s data such as name, address etc. is captured anyway, there is also a facility to make a selected list of contacts and even export for mail-merge in a word processor such as MS Word. This can come very handy for TRADING, HOTELS, CLINICS, etc.

A method is used to try avoiding duplicate company names, contact persons.

Each contact is also assigned to a user (e.g. salesman) and hence where many salesmen exist in an organisation, management can also have status of FollowUP! tasks by salesmen.
